Monday:
Hello to all. I hope you had an great weekend. mine was not as exciting as in weeks past, but I did get to sneak away with my dad and camp near Fresno Dome last week. That was really cool. And I sold one of my bicycles. So now, all I have to do is sell one more and my wife will let me by a new one!

To get started, please do the opener below.
Opener 10/28

Today we will begin our peer presentations and notes on Ecosystems and Biochemical Processes. I am very excited to see what you have come up with. Also, just as a reminder, please be sure to finish up your Biomes Posters and have them ready to be emailed to me on Wednesday at the beginning of class.

Unit 4:Ecosystems Shared Preso That is a link to the shared preso you have created and you may study from. We will be presenting from this presentation today. My goal is to get through three presenters.

Wednesday:
Good day to all. I this day finds you well. I have left you in great hands with Mr. Jacobsen, so please treat him well. In case you did not know, Mr. J was my master teacher at Le Grand high school during my student teaching. He also happened to be Mrs. Ferguson's and Ms. Wood's master teacher as well. Small world, I know. Anyway, today you are on auto pilot. You will need to follow along with the wiki so you know what to do to best make use of your time. I have put Nick in charge of the iPad to set up for shared presos and videos for the week.

Please get started with the opener, you have 5 minutes:

Up next I would like you to convert your Biomes Poster to a PDF and email it to me. After you have done so, please open the link below, scroll down to the biome you researched and compare the information from your poster to the information on the presentation. Take 10 minutes to do so and fill out this form as well. Biomes Poster Reflection
Biomes Preso Last Year

After this, it is time for some peer presenting. Nick, please set up the TV and iPad with the shared preso. All others please get out your in class notes to add to when others are sharing. Please get through five presenters, and everyone try and keep your presentations to 10 minutes or less. This activity should take you no longer than 50 minutes

For that last 25 or so minutes of class I would like everyone to watch the video Bees as a Keystone Species. Nick, again will set this up for you to view through the TV. If you encounter problems, please get in groups of three or four and watch it from your computers. At the end of the video you will need to answer the questions on the document below. Please, make a new page for your answers. Therefore, everyone will answer using one document, but each of you will have an entire and separate page for your answers.
Importance of Bees

For your homework, please contribute to the Unit 4: Questions and Findings. Do so by the end of Friday. All of you will be referring back to this shared document for your project over the weekend. So be sure to ask good questions, both the ones you answer and leave unanswered.

Friday:
For your opener, you have 15 minutes to skim through and take notes on Ch 9 in your 5 Steps to a 5 Book. You will be given a 4x6 notecard for your notes. You may begin when Mr. J says to start. Fifteen minutes will go by quickly.

Now that you have completed your opener, I want the class to go over the questions about the Importance of Bees. Everyone please open up the document Importance of Bees and scroll down to your page of answers. Jenny, will you moderate by reading the questions and calling on students to answer. I want everyone to agree on the answers before moving on the the next question. Do this for all ten questions.

Up next you will continue with your peer presentations. Please get out your in class notes and be ready to add to them. Nick will set up the TV and iPad again for the presentation.
Unit 4:Ecosystems Shared Preso

If there is any time left in class you may get an early start on your homework for the weekend. I hope you go and do something memorable this weekend and I will see all of you Tuesday.

For your homework over the weekend, you are to create a Jeopardy Game by creating answers and questions from the chapter. These will be due Monday 11/4 by 11:59pm. We will play Jeopardy on Tuesday when I see you next. Please us the template provided to create your game. It is very easy, Slide 1 is the Game Board; Slide 2 is the answer; Slide 3 is the question. Slide 4 answer, Slide 5 question. This continues until Slide 11. Slide 12 is the answer for the $100 square in the second column. Slide 22 is the start for the third column, Slide 32 for the fourth column, and Slide 42 for the fifth column. You just need to edit each slide by creating an answer and corresponding question for each. Then go back and change the categories on the Game Board Slide. If you have any questions feel free to call or text me. 209.201.9171.
Here is a template to use for your project.
